Fagus Vehicles - Basic Truck Unimog

This basic wooden truck has fully steerable wheels that are controlled by the wooden knob on top of the truck cab. It includes two figures and measures approximately 9.8 inches in length. There are three extension pieces that can turn your truck into a snow plough, street sweeper or use the crane extension to make a tow truck. These pieces are sold separately under codes 14.06, 14.08 and 14.07.

INTERESTING NOTE: The UNIMOG is a line of vehicles produced by Boehringer from 1948 until 1951, and by Daimler Truck (formerly Daimler-Benz) since 1951. The first technical drawings were completed in March 1946. Emphasis was on the functionality of the vehicle; for instance, the track width measures 50 in (1,270 mm), which equals two rows of potatoes. An engineer who worked on the project, coined the acronym "Unimog" by making a note on one of the drawings calling the vehicle a "Universal-Motor-Gerät" (Universal-Motor-Gadget), which lead to the UNIMOG name.
